Prices
The quoted prices are per person per double occupancy usually in groups of 6
persons. Single supplement prices are available. Children under 2 are free
and children from 2-10 are 50% less for hotels. The prices quoted are low
season. They shall increase for high season. The quotes are in EUROS. Prices
are subject to change based on currency fluctuations. A currency converter
is available. Prices are also determined by the number of people in the
group. A smaller number means a higher price per person to cover
transportation costs.
Guides
There shall be official guides speaking your language to accompany your
trip. On the tours in Spain, there is an escort throughout your entire trip.
The cost increases significantly in small groups but only if you speak
Spanish should you consider excluding this service. The local guides for the
monuments speak your language also. In Morocco, if your driver/guide does
not speak your language, another person shall accompany you. In Morocco,
there are official registered -colleges educated- guides in Marrakech, Fès,
Essaouira, and Meknes who speak your language with local Berbers in the
desert who speak many languages.
Transportation
Different airlines travel to Morocco and Spain. Royal Air Maroc travels to
Casablanca from New York and London, Spanish Iberia flies from Spain to
Marrakech and Casablanca, British Airways flies from London, Air France
flies from Paris, Sabena/Swissair flies from Belgium. Many airlines fly to
Madrid, Barcelona, or Malaga. I have them listed on my Resource page. Book
your flight with our
Flight to
Morocco page. Blue Men of Morocco Co. does not arrange air transport but
will meet clients at Malaga, Spain airport or train station or Algeciras,
Spain train station. Transport from Malaga is via taxi or van to Algeciras,
Spain where passengers take a ferry across the Straits of Gibraltar to
Ceuta, Spain or Tangier, Morocco, North Africa. Arrivals in Casablanca or
Marrakech will be met at airport upon arrival. Transportation in Morocco
will be comfortable new vans or minibus with A/C and heating or 4x4 Land
Rovers when appropriate. Your host is also the driver and will accompany you
throughout Morocco. There may be a slight upgrade cost for high season for
Mini-vans for more then 6 people.
Clothing
It is hot in the desert and cold in the mountains -so bring an assortment of
warm and cool weather clothes. Locals wear long sleeves and long pants in
the summer to protect against the sun. Two or three nice outfits are
adequate. Sweatsuits are good to sleep in while in the desert: casual
clothing, sweaters, comfortable walking shoes and a jacket are necessary.
Turbans and jalavas or gondoras can be purchased in the desert from nomad
shops. One should bring towels, washcloths, soap, sunglasses, handcream,
toilet paper, Kleenex and suntan lotion.
Passports and Visas
Check with Moroccan Consulate or Spanish in your country. Americans and
Canadians and most European citizens need only their passport without visas
to enter Spain and Morocco. You will need your passport at airlines
check-in.
Vaccinations and Health Concerns
There are no required inoculations needed for Spain or Morocco. Check with
WHO or consulates for recommendation of your country. Drink only bottled
water and watch out for watered down juices. Be practical.
Insurance
Personal travel or emergency medial insurance is required. We recommend you
include Morocco in your travel insurance. Local medical provisions may not
be adequate in emergency situations. Please check my Resource page for some
options.
